Service employee – Supervisor

We have been receiving our guests in our family business Het Wapen van Medemblik since 1954. Meanwhile, we have grown into a modern and dynamic company with a three-star superior hotel with 26 rooms, a restaurant with over 100 covers that keeps renewing itself time and again, and modern rooms for both business and private meetings for up to 120 guests.

The company is located in the heart of Medemblik in the middle of 3 harbors. Medemblik is the oldest town on the IJsselmeer. Medemblik has a rich history, has many and various restaurants, water sports and museums and is constantly developing. There is always something to do in Medemblik!

Because we always want to develop and are always busy with new plans in and around Medemblik we are looking for reinforcement within our service team. We are looking for a host / hostess with a passion for the hotel industry. You are someone with expertise and experience in the F&B. In addition, you are motivated to put a smile on the face of every guest. You find it a challenge to keep your head cool in busy situations, you are flexible and a real team player.

Working in the Hospitality Industry is not something you do easily, you have to find the right combination between service, personal attention and professionalism. The duties include:

• You will carry out daily tasks in the two restaurants and the banqueting area to ensure our guests enjoy the ultimate dining experience.
• You will assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner from arrival to departure.
• The goal is to eventually open and close independently;
• You will also perform tasks at the hotel reception desk (checking guests in and out and taking reservations);
• You work together with our team, encouraging each other. Together with the team, you know how to combine service and quality.
• You create the right atmosphere for our guests;

You meet (preferably) the following:

• You have completed a Level 3 or 4 Host/Hostess training program, but are still eager to learn;
• You have relevant experience in à la carte and banqueting or similar businesses and can work independently;
• You are hospitable, presentable, stress-resistant, and have good communication skills with employees and guests.
• You are service-oriented and proactive, with an eye for detail;
• You do not have a 9 to 5 mentality and are willing to work alternating shifts (breakfast/lunch/dinner);
• You are fluent in Dutch and have knowledge of English and German;
• You live in a radius of up to 30 kilometers around Medemblik.

• We offer an opportunity to become part of our Wapen family and are looking for someone for a minimum one-year contract (24-32 hours);
• We offer flexible hours. In the evening, of course, but also in the morning (breakfast).

• A salary in accordance with the KHN Horeca CAO (collective labor agreement) tailored to the position in accordance with wage group 4 with opportunities for advancement to wage group V (including 8% vacation pay, vacation days, and pension accrual). Travel expenses (for distances greater than 10 km).
